The Odd Couple is a new multi-camera American television comedy series that airs on the CBS channel. This new sitcom was developed by Matthew Perry (Friends, Mr. Sunshine, Go On) and Danny Jacobson (Mad About You, Kirstie). This is already the fifth screen adaptation of the play written by Neil Simon back in 1965 following a 1968 feature film directed by Gene Saks, a 1970 television series, a 1975 Saturday morning cartoon, and a remake of the 1970 series that came out in 1982.

This latest adaptation of The Odd Couple will star Matthew Perry who also serves as an executive producer along with Eric Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men), Kim Tannenbaum (Young & Hungry), Sarah Timberman (Elementary, Justified) and Carl Beverly (Unforgettable, Masters of Sex). Matthew Perry will play the untidy Oscar Madison and Thomas Lennon (Sean Saves the World, Memento) will portray the obsessively-tidy Felix Unger. These two actors have already worked together before on the 2009 movie 17 Again directed by Burr Steers. The Odd Couple also stars Lindsay Sloane, Wendell Pierce and Yvette Nicole Brown.

The new television adaptation of The Odd Couple was announced by CBS in December of 2013. Season 1 of The Odd Couple premiered on CBS on February 19, 2015 and it will consist of 13 thirty-minute episodes. The Odd Couple will also simultaneously air in Canada on the CTV channel and in Australia on the channel Network Ten.

UPDATED December 2, 2015: A twelve-episode debut season of CBS’s new sitcom The Odd Couple wrapped up on May 14, 2015 and just a few days before the finale episode, the network had officially renewed the comedy series for another run. UPDATED May 13, 2015: If you are a fan of the CBS’s freshman comedy series The Odd Couple, we have great news for you. On May 11, 2015, the network officially renewed the show for a second season. The Odd Couple had an impressive launch in February with 13.573 million total viewers. However, later in the season, the ratings experienced a slow decline and eventually fell down to a 7 million mark, yet CBS decided to renew the show anyway. Let’s hope that the fate of a second season of The Odd Couple will not follow in the footsteps of The Millers – the series got cancelled midway into its second season. CBS has not yet set the premiere date of The Odd Couple season 2, so check back with us for the latest news or subscribe to our notifications and get the release date of The Odd Couple season 2 sent automatically straight to your inbox as soon as it is announced.

Very funny show. Unexpected scenes, surprise guests and all the actors work well together. The segment involving the fist bump was hilarious. Check it out.

TERRIBLE, RIDICULOUS, STUPID, SILLY, IDIOTIC, NOT FUNNY.
DOES NOT REMOTELY COMPARE WITH THE RANDAL, KLUGMAN ODD COUPLE WHICH WAS ENTERTAINING, FUNNY, WELL ACTED AND GREAT STORY LINES.
