Summary and storyline

Schitt's Creek is a new Canadian television comedy series that airs on the CBC Television. The series was created by Eugene Levy (American Pie, Bringing Down the House) and Daniel Levy (Admission, Stage Fright) who also both star in the series, and produced by Not a Real Company Productions. Season 1 of Schitt’s Creek premiered on CBC Television on January 13, 2015 with back-to-back episodes. The day before the premiere of the new comedy series, on January 12, 2015, CBC renewed the show for a second season. The storyline of Schitt’s Creek revolves around a wealthy family who suddenly find themselves broke and forced to live in Schitt's Creek, a small and depressing town they once purchased as a joke. Having to say good-bye to their privileged lifestyle, they now have to face their new-found poverty and discover what it really means to be a family, all within the confines of their new home. Schitt’s Creek stars Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara (Six Feet Under, Beetlejuice) as Johnny and Moira Rose, a wealthy couple. The main cast also features the creator of the series Daniel Levy, as well as Annie Murphy (Rookie Blue, Blue Mountain State), Chris Elliott (Eagleheart, Groundhog Day), Jennifer Robertson (Wingin' It, Comedy Inc.) and Emily Hampshire (Rookie Blue, 12 Monkeys).

Schitt’s Creek was filmed on location in Goodwood, Ontario which is located northeast of Toronto, and the interior scenes were filmed at Pinewood Toronto Studios in Toronto.

UPDATED October 23, 2015: A-13 episode debut season of Canadian comedy series Schitt’s Creek concluded on the CBC channel and the Pop channel on March 31, 2015. The Rose family is going to be back on the small screen in 2016, because CBC has officially renewed Schitt’s Creek for a second season. According to the press release, in the upcoming season, after the Roses fail to sell the town, they realize that their unfortunate stay in Schitt’s Creek may be much longer than they imagined. Season 2 of Schitt’s Creek is scheduled to premiere on Pop in the US on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 8:00 PM, ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes.
