About the show

Jay Leno's Garage is a new American observational, informational and documentary television series about cars that is currently airing on the CNBC channel in the United States. The new automotive series is produced for CNBC by Big Dog Productions and Original Productions. The program is hosted and executive produced by Jay Leno – a huge car enthusiast and collector, legendary American comedian and a long-time host of the hit night time talk show on the NBC channel, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992-2009). Season 1 of the new series debuted on the CNBC channel on October 7, 2015.

In each episode of the show, Jay Leno will explore such automotive topics as collecting cars, car restorations, supercars, classic cars and many more. The new show is based on Leno’s award-winning web series.

Season 1 of Jay Leno's Garage premiered on the CNBC channel in the US on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT and at the moment it is set to consist of eight one-hour episodes. The initial reviews have been rather positive praising Leno’s appreciation and respect for the automotive history and culture. The celebrity guests this season include Francis Ford Coppola, Keanu Reeves, Tim Allen, Laurence Fishburne, Los Angeles Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson, six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, comedian Jeff Dunham and many others. The show debuted with very good ratings, attracting almost 1 million viewers. The following episodes demonstrated a slight decline in the ratings, which was expected, but still fared pretty well. Something tells us that we will see more of Jay Leno in the future. UPDATED December 6, 2015: The debut season of CNBC’s newest original program Jay Leno’s Garage has just wrapped up on December 2nd and the network has already officially renewed the series for a second season, motivated by its very solid performance and reviews. In fact, the debut run of the program has become the highest-rated freshman season ever for the network. It seems that viewers can’t get enough of the beloved talk show host and his passion for cars is simply addictive. A new chapter of the program is set to include 12 one-hour episodes and it will return in spring 2016.
