Current season and viewer response
Season 1 of Lucifer was released on the FOX channel in the US on Monday, January 25, 2016 and it is expected to include 13 episodes. The show will also be made available to Amazon Prime members sometime in 2016. The premiere episode did very well, having attracted more than 7 million viewers to the small screen. However, as the season progressed, the ratings have come down significantly and at the moment the series is averaging 4.9 million viewers. Yet, with the average score of 8.5 out of 10 on IMDb and positive feedback from critics, the network will most likely give the new series a second chance.
