A Place to Call Home is an Australian period drama television series that used to air on Seven Network in Australia and is currently airing on the Soho channel. The drama series was created by Bevan Lee. It is produced by Chris Martin-Jones and Seven Network and executive produced by John Holmes and Julie McGauran. Season 1 of A Place to Call Home debuted on Seven Network on April 28, 2013.

The storyline of A Place to Call Home is set in Country New South Wales right after World War II and it revolves around Sarah Adams (portrayed by Marta Dusseldorp). Sarah came back to Australia to start a new chapter in her life after having been gone for almost twenty years. A Place to Call Home also stars Noni Hazlehurst, Brett Climo, Craig Hall, David Berry, Abby Earl, Arianwen Parkes-Lockwood, Aldo Mignone, Frankie J. Holden, Sara Wiseman and Matt Levett.

Season 3 of the critically acclaimed A Place to Call Home premiered on the Soho channel in Australia on Sunday, September 27, 2015. The series did very well in the ratings department in its previous seasons: it has averaged 1.48 million viewers in its debut season and 1.15 million viewers per episode in the previous, second season. A Place to Call Home has also enjoyed critical acclaim and has been nominated for several awards – 2014 Australian Cinematographers Society Awards, 2014 Equity Ensemble Awards and 2014 Logie Awards. UPDATED November 8, 2015: A Place to Call Home was cancelled by the Seven Network after two seasons, but then resurrected later by Foxtel. In October 2014 Foxtel made a deal with Seven that would have a third season produced by Seven Productions but broadcast on Foxtel’s SoHo channel. Foxtel has also renewed the critically acclaimed period drama series for a fourth season. It is slated to premiere some time in 2016 and all original cast members are expected to reprise their roles. UPDATED September 10, 2016: This is the most exciting television news this September! In just one day, a highly-anticipated fourth chapter of the internationally adored Australian period drama series A Place to Call Home will hit the small screen. Series 4 is scheduled to debut on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 8:30pm AEST. Please, note that starting with this installment, the hit drama series will be broadcast on Foxtel’s Showcase network instead of SoHo. The upcoming series will contain 12 episodes and will take viewers to the year 1954. We are definitely looking forward to see our favorite characters.

Please don't say that we have to wait until next year for series 4. This was one of the best dramas on TV and deserved a prime time slot rather than the afternoon and I am sure there would have been far more viewers.
Do we have a date yet????
