Basic info and storyline

Blue Bloods is a popular and long-running American police procedural and family drama television series that is currently airing on the CBS channel in the United States. The series was created by Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess who also both serve as executive producers alongside Leonard Goldberg and Brian Burns. Blue Bloods is produced for CBS by Panda Productions, Paw In Your Face Productions and CBS Television Studios. Season 1 of Blue Bloods debuted on the CBS channel on September 24, 2010.

The storyline of Blue Bloods is set in New York City and revolves around the Reagan family, most members of which are employed by the New York City Police Department. Blue Bloods stars Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Tom Selleck, Amy Carlson and Sami Gayle.

Viewer reception and chances of renewal

Season 6 of Blue Bloods premiered on the CBS channel in the US on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT and it is set to consist of 22 one-hour episodes, just like the previous seasons. The renewal of the police drama series came as no surprise, as the show has been one of CBS’s top performers since its 2010 debut and in the previous, fifth season, has averaged 11.3 million viewers per episode. To date, just a few episodes into the current season, Blue Bloods is averaging 10.64 million viewers per episode, which is a small 5% decline when compared season-to-season. The show has a huge fan following and we hope that it gets greenlit for another run. What a wonderful show. Fantastic writing and also
fantastic acting. I wait for this show every Friday
and also see it on another channel all day
Thursdays from morning til night. Never get tired
of the reruns. Very few good shows on anymore.

I had back surgery and was wanting to watch a series and picked Blue Bloods and now I'm addicted, in a good way. I finished all seasons and now I am starting all over again. Looking forward to season 7!

I put Blue Blood right up there with Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote which are both timeless. I hope you keep them on for many more seasons to come. I watch the reruns over and over. Please put the seasons on DVDs
