About the series
Scream Queens is a new American comedy and horror teen drama television series that is currently airing on the FOX channel in the United States. The new series was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan who also all serve as executive producers alongside Alexis Martin Woodall and Dante Di Loreto. Season 1 of Scream Queens debuted on the FOX channel on September 22, 2015.
The storyline revolves around the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority house. There is a killer on campus, who is dressed in the college mascot’s Red Devil outfit and if you look closer – everyone seems to have a motive. Scream Queens stars Emma Roberts, Skyler Samuels, Glen Powell, Diego Boneta, Abigail Breslin, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, Oliver Hudson, Nasim Pedrad, and Lucien Laviscount. Season 1 of Scream Queens premiered on the FOX channel in the US on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT and it is set to consist of 15 one-hour episodes.
The premiere episode attracted more than 4 million viewers, but the ratings declined as the season progressed, and after the first five episodes Scream Queens is averaging 3.38 million viewers. The show has received rather mixed reviews from critics.
UPDATED January 16, 2016: Gary Newman, the president of the FOX network, has just confirmed the network’s affection and trust in Ryan Murphy (the man behind such TV hits as Glee, Nip/Tuck and American Horror Story) by announcing the renewal of the teen drama show Scream Queens for another run. According to some reports, the second chapter of the comedy and horror series will come with a lot of changes. Instead of the college grounds, the storyline will be now set in a hospital. Apparently, there will also be significant changes in the cast, with one of the most likely returning original cast members being Jamie Lee Curtis.
