About the show
An American singing competition/reality program, The Voice has aired on NBC since 2011, and has gone through 10 completed seasons as of the moment. The 10th season ran between February 29 and May 24, 2016. United Artists Media Group produces the series, which is one of many international adaptations of “The Voice of Holland” original format, all of which have become immensely popular. Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams act as coaches in the 17th season.
Talented amateur singers compete for the grand prize of $100,000 and a record deal with a famous label. Blind auditions are conducted at the outset of each season, so that the coaches judge the contestants solely on the basis of what they hear. Five artists are chosen by each coach to contend in the live shows, and each coach can also bring back one of the previously eliminated singers.
Excellent ratings and renewal
The Voice is a ratings monster that consistently dominates ratings charts. The current season premiere topped the previous season premiere by almost a million viewers at 13.33 million a share of 11 and a 3.5 demo rating in the 18-49 group. There really wasn't any doubt as to the series renewal, and indeed it was predictably renewed. The 11th season of The Voice is currently expected to air in September 2016. It will be the first season to have two female judges on board – Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus. Miley is expected to bring a desirable younger audience in with her, and the female duo will join Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. We're sure that the upcoming season will be as inspiring as the others have been, so please stay tuned for a release date.
