The X-Files is a cult American sci-fi television drama series that was originally broadcast in the US on the FOX channel for 9 seasons – from 1993 to 2002. The critically acclaimed TV show was created in 1993 by Chris Carter who also served as executive producer alongside R. W. Goodwin, Howard Gordon, Frank Spotnitz, Vince Gilligan, Kim Manners and Glen Morgan. The newly revived classic is going to be executive produced by Chris Carter who also wrote the script for the highly anticipated mini-series.

13 years after the release of the final season of The X-Files, in January 2015, the American television channel FOX announced that it is preparing to relaunch the cult classic as a mini-series, in which we will see again our favorite actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. The producers were able to bring together the operator, artistic director and casting director, who all worked on the original show. So, this revival can truly be called a reunion. Chris Carter personally invited screenwriters Vince Gilligan and Frank Spotnitz to assist him with creating a script, but they had to unfortunately decline due to the previous commitments. The Carter’s invitation was instead accepted by writers James Wong, Glen Morgan, and Darin Morgan, who participated in the creation of the series from its debut back in 1993.

A wildly anticipated tenth season of The X-Files is scheduled to premiere on the FOX channel in the US on Sunday, January 24, 2015. According to Chris Carter, the plot of the new set of episodes is based on the realities of the modern world and personal real life experiences of Julian Assange and Edward Snowden. Topics will also include "big brother" and the New World Order. To say that the world is waiting with a bated breath for the return of this favorite TV show is to say nothing.
