Summary and storyline

Who Do You Think You Are? is an American reality and documentary TV series that is currently airing on the TLC channel in the United States. The docu-series is an adaptation of the eponymous British TV show that is airing on the BBC channel in Great Britain. It was created by Alex Graham from Wall to Wall Media. Originally, the American version of the series was broadcast on the NBC channel, but in 2013 it was moved to the TLC channel. The reality show is produced by Lisa Kudrow and it was first released on NBC on March 5, 2010.

Season 7 of Who Do You Think You Are? premiered on the TLC channel in the US on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 9/8c. The new season is executive produced by Lisa Kudrow and Dan Bucatinsky. This unprecedented project invites viewers to make an exciting trip into family histories of American celebrities (actors, directors, singers, athletes, models) and together with them to explore their fascinating past with all of its ups and downs. UPDATED March 4, 2016: It has been more than six months since the previous installment of the TLC network’s hit real life series Who Do You Think You Are? concluded in the US back in August of 2015, and the network has finally announced a highly-anticipated renewal of its Primetime Emmy-nominated program for another season and has also revealed the release date for the new episodes. A new cycle of the docuseries is scheduled to premiere on TLC on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT. The celebrities that will appear on the show in hopes to trace their family trees include Lea Michele, Scott Foley, Molly Ringwald, Chris Noth and others. I love this show. Just watched the one on Molly Ringwald. I watched other seasons and was fascinated by all of them. I missed the others from this season I hope they will be rerun. Please continue this show.

I'm sooooo glad this show is back for another season. I'm a bit disappointed, though, that the last few seasons have been "condensed" and have only had 4 - 6 episodes. "Find Your Roots" on PBS had 9 episodes this past season and is giving WDYTYA some pretty heavy competition. For those of us who are hooked on genealogy, 4 - 6 episodes are only a tease and leave us wanting more.
