About the show

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll is a new American musical comedy television series that is currently being broadcast on the FX channel in the United States. The new series is a creative collaboration between FX Productions and Fox Television Studios. The show brings Denis Leary back to the network after his amazing seven-season run on Rescue Me. Leary also co-wrote the pilot for Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. Leary, his company Apostle and business partner Jim Serpico serve as executive producers for the series. The new dramedy came out in the US on July 16, 2015.

The plot of the dramedy musical series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll focuses of a musician named Johnny Rock (Denis Leary). In the 90s, he was the lead singer of popular New York band The Heathens that had unprecedented success among fans of rock music. They had all the chances to become a true legend, however, the persistent differences between the musicians led to the fact that the band broke up. Since then, after more than twenty years have passed, none of the ex-members of the band managed to succeed on their own. As it stands today, Johnny has no work, money, and no chance to return to show business. Just when he slid down almost to the bottom, fate decides to give him another chance.

Season 1 of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll premiered on the FX channel in the US on Thursday, July 16, 2015 and it is expected to include 10 episodes. So far, the first two episodes of the show have averaged 0.78 million viewers, and it will be interesting to see how the ratings change as the series progresses.
