Basic info and storyline
Impastor is a new American comedy television series that is currently being broadcast on the cable network TV Land in the United States. The new series was created and penned by Christopher Vane. Rob Greenberg (How I Met Your Mother) directed the pilot. A creative collaboration between TV Land Original Productions, The Tannenbaum Company and All In Vane, the new sitcom was released in the US on July 15, 2015, alongside another new original comedy series The Jim Gaffigan Show.
The storyline of Impastor revolves around Buddy Dobbs, played by Michael Rosenbaum, who is in big trouble. He is hunted by bouncers of creditors, whom he owes a large sum of money. So, the main character decides to commit suicide, but eventually finds himself in a beautiful town in a countryside where he finds an interesting but tricky new ‘calling’. Impastor also stars Sara Rue, Mircea Monroe, Mike Kosinski, Aimee Garcia and David Rasche.
Ratings, reviews and possible renewal
Season 1 of Impastor debuted on TV Land in the US on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:30pm ET/PT and it is set to consist of 10 episodes. After a few episodes, the freshman dark comedy series is averaging 0.57 million viewers per episode, which is a rather disappointing start. Let’s see how the ratings change as the season progresses, but its fellow new Wednesday comedy series The Jim Gaffigan Show is doing much better. We are afraid that if the network had to choose between the two, the choice would be not in favor of Impastor as ratings decide all. It’s unfortunate, because the reviews so far have been nothing but positive. At the moment, there has been no word from the network about the fate of the show, so check back with us for the latest news, or subscribe to our updates and get an automated email as soon as the series gets renewed or canceled.
