The reality show is produced by ITV Studios and executive produced by Sarah Tyekiff and Tom Gould. The series is the revival of the earlier eponymous reality show which aired from 2005 for two cycles on ITV. On June 7, 2015, Love Island returned with a brand new look to ITV2. ITV’s Director of Digital and Acquisitions Angela Jain said “The all new, revamped and reworked Love Island promises excitement, surprises and fun for ITV2 viewers.”
Love Island is a reality show in which a host of sexy singles are sent off to Love Island where they spend six weeks living in luxury, slapping on the suncream and getting to know each other. The show is presented by Caroline Flack and narrated by Iain Stirling. Unlike the previous version of the show, the participants of the new version of Love Island are not celebrities, but members of the public. In order to stay in paradise the contestants must win the hearts of the public who ultimately decide who stays on Love Island and who goes. Immediately after the contestants entered the villa they were asked to couple up. They will be competing in their pairs for the ultimate prize of £50,000.
Series 1 of Love Island was released on the ITV2 channel in the UK on June 7, 2015.
