About the show
Aquarius is a new American television drama series starring David Duchovny that is currently airing on the NBC channel in the United States. The new series was created and written by John McNamara (In Plain Sight, Profit) who also serves as an executive producer on the show alongside David Duchovny (The X-Files, Californication), Marty Adelstein (Prison Break, Last Man Standing) and Melanie Greene. Season 1 of Aquarius premiered on NBC on May 28, 2015.
Aquarius is set in the late 1960s, and Duchovny stars as a Los Angeles police sergeant with a complicated personal life who starts tracking a small-time criminal and budding cult leader – Charles Manson (Gethin Anthony) – seeking out vulnerable women to join his “cause.” Aquarius also stars Grey Damon, Emma Dumont, Claire Holt, Michaela McManus and Brían F. O'Byrne.
Season 1 of Aquarius debuted on the NBC channel in the US on May 28, 2015 and it will consist of thirteen episodes. However, NBC has also made the unprecedented move of releasing all 13 episodes of David Duchovny’s new series online, in order to offer viewers the same binge-viewing experience they now enjoy on streaming platforms. You can watch all episodes of the drama right now on NBC.com, various video-on-demand platforms and Hulu. There have been rumors that this move meant that the show will be limited to one season and has essentially been cancelled. However, in a recent interview, the creator of the series, John McNamara said that he already has new ideas for a second season.
