500 Questions is a new game show hosted by CNN journalist Richard Quest. In each episode, the smartest people in America will try to achieve the seemingly impossible task of answering 500 of the most difficult general knowledge questions ever devised. Each contestant's run is divided into ten rounds of 50 questions each. Every round contains ten categories (one of which is always "Random", consisting of miscellaneous questions) with five questions each. There is only one simple rule: never get three wrong in a row—or you are done. In this pressure-packed and incredibly intense game there are no saves, no helps, no multiple choices. 500 Questions will keep you on the edge of your seat to see if any of these geniuses can do it.
Season 1 of 500 Questions debuted on the ABC channel in the US on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 8:00 pm EDT, and it and will run for seven straight weeknights. The premiere episode of the game show drew in over 5 million viewers in total, and the following episodes managed to maintain the average viewership at around 4 million viewers. 500 Questions delivered ABC’s best post-season/summer numbers since June 2014 in total viewers.
