About the series

Orphan Black is a Canadian science fiction and drama television series that is currently airing on the Space channel in Canada and the BBC America channel in the United States. Orphan Black was created by screenwriter Graeme Manson (Flashpoint, Being Erica, Rent-a-Goalie) and director John Fawcett (Saving Hope, Rookie Blue) who also both serve as executive producers for the show along with Ivan Schneeberg (The Next Step, X Company) and David Fortier (Say Yes to the Dress: Canada, Cook'd). The series is a co-production between Temple Street Productions, BBC America and Bell Media and it is filmed on location in Toronto, Canada. Season 1 of Orphan Black premiered on March 30, 2013, on the Space channel in Canada and on the BBC America channel in the United States.

The storyline of Orphan Black , revolves around Sarah Manning, a woman who assumes the identity of one of her clones, Elizabeth Childs, after witnessing Childs' suicide. The series stars Tatiana Maslany as several identical people who are, in fact, clones. Orphan Black raises relevant and important issues about the moral and ethical implications of human cloning. Orphan Black also stars Dylan Bruce, Jordan Gavaris, Kevin Hanchard, Michael Mando, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Évelyne Brochu and Ari Millen.

On July 9, 2014, the series was renewed for a ten-episode third season. Season 3 of Orphan Black premiered on Space in Canada and on BBC America in the US on April 18, 2015. It's the Project Leda clones versus the Project Castor clones on season 3 of Orphan Black. "We pick up very close to where we left off, not quite the same moment, but a day later," executive producer Graeme Manson told TVguide.com. "Sarah isn't aware that somebody has grabbed Helena at this point. Sarah's hoping they can take a breath and relax, but it didn't seem like it at the end of last season." This definitely promises to be an exciting season.

Latest developments

UPDATED June 21, 2015: The season 3 finale of Orphan Black that aired on June 20, 2015, finally shed some light on many of the show’s lingering mysteries: it revealed he continued threat of Neolution and the survival of Susan Duncan. The final episode also saw Delphine shot leaving fans with a major cliffhanger. In an interview with Variety, the series showrunner, John Fawcett did not confirm that Delphine was dead. He also revealed that in upcoming season 4, the creators want a vibe of season one again: “ I want a lot of that paranoia back, and Sarah following a first-person mystery, and a feeling of not knowing where we stand again, and having the audience not know where we stand.” What did you think of Orphan Black season 3 finale?

UPDATED September 30, 2015: BBC America has made an announcement that production of season 4 of their critically acclaimed sci-fi drama series Orphan Black has started in Toronto. Filming will continue through March 2016. A 10-episode season 4 of Orphan Black will premiere in spring 2016. BBC America has also revealed some details about new episodes. Season 4 will see leader-of-the-pack, Sarah, reluctantly return home from her Icelandic hideout to track down an elusive and mysterious ally tied to the clone who started it all – Beth Childs. Sarah will follow Beth’s footsteps into a dangerous relationship with a potent new enemy.

UPDATED February 19, 2016: It has been way too long since the latest chapter of the universally acclaimed and award-winning TV show Orphan Black wrapped up on June 20, 2016. Finally, the BBC America channel has unveiled the release date for new episodes and an official trailer that you can watch on our website. A highly anticipated fourth season of the Peabody Award-winning drama series is scheduled to premiere in the US on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT. The new trailer reveals a number of new characters and in particular introduces a new clone MK (also played by Tatiana Maslany). According to IMDB there is a season 5 listed, but nothing here. Nothing about cancelled or renewed ... :sigh:
